Smash Burgers Recipe

If you do not care about crispy burger patties, you can skip the entire step of making the batter. Simply shape the patties and pan fry in hot oil. Heat 3-4 tablespoons oil on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, dip patties into the batter and then roll into a plate of breadcrumbs.

This makes the recipe entirely gluten-free, too! We swap the hamburger buns for crunchy, large leaf lettuce such as romaine, green leaf or butter. Heat a wide non-stick pan on medium-high heat. Wait for it to get hot, about 2-3 minutes, then add about a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. Add the chicken patties without overcrowding the pan.
